The NT Bitumen & Asphalt crew were out on the Plenty Highway again last month, completing more bitumen upgrades for Exact Contracting. It was all new work again, so the boys needed to prime the newly-constructed pavement – all 42,485m2 of it – followed by a 14mm seal.
The works commenced 146 kilometres from the turnoff with the Stuart Highway and the site was about 6 kilometres long.
We also put a couple of coats of 20mm and 10mm stone on a number of floodways that were typical of the job.
The crew have finished up in the southern region of the NT for now, and are completing more work for Exact Contracting, this time in the Tennant Creek Region. Stay tuned for more pictures of that region, where the guys are sealing 15.5km of road on the Barkly Stock Route, between the 8.3 and 23.8 kilometre marks.
